Travelling With Your Pet: A Stress-Free Checklist

Whether it's a trip to the vet or a weekend away, a little preparation keeps travel calm for everyone.

Before you go

  • Get your pet used to their carrier at home first. Leave it open with a blanket and a treat inside.
  • Check that ID tags and microchip details are up to date.
  • Ask your vet about any travel requirements for your destination.

What to pack

  • A well-ventilated carrier or a secure harness and leash
  • Food, water and a collapsible bowl
  • A familiar blanket or toy
  • Poop bags, wipes and any medication

On the road

Plan regular breaks for water and a short walk, and never leave your pet alone in a parked car.
